Our Dance Programmes

Junior School Courses

Parent & Child (2-3 years)
Saturday 10.00 am - 11.00 am
Our Parent & Child course is designed to introduce younger students to the world of dance. Through the use of imagination and creativity we are able to get our little ones thrilled and excited about their new dance journey. However, at this age, these children are also experiencing the start of school and leaving their parents in the waiting area of our studios after a day at school may at times be intimidating for them.  Furthermore it takes them a bit longer to get accustomed to their dance school since they only come to their dance classes once a week. We shall therefore be offering parents the possibility to accompany their children during the classes for children aged 2 to 3 years. One of the parents will be able to accompany the child in the studio and spend some quality time with their son or daughter whilst also being able to benefit from some exercise and enjoying the magic dance bestows.

Foundation Ballet (3-4 years)
Saturday 11.00 am - 12.00 pm

Students are to choose a group according to their preference. Attending both classes is not compulsory, however, students may also opt to join both groups
should they wish to do so.

At Foundation level students enter their dance class without being accompanied by parents. During these recreational classes, students learn basic introductory dance movements through imaginative and creative classes prepared by our qualified team of teachers. Throughout the year, the students will be able to get used to their class environment, their teachers, dance friends and above all start looking forward to attending their dance classes independently. This introductory year will ease the transition to into         Pre-Primary.

Pre-Primary Ballet (4 years)
Saturday 9.00 am - 10.00 am
Wednesday 4.15 pm - 5.15 pm
&
 Thursday 5.30-6.30pm

Pre-Primary students will be introduced to dancing during this year whilst some other may have already attended the recreational classes available at JCDC in previous years. Our Pre-Primary Programme ensures that the students are being given the necessary preparation and foundation for a structured training method which is followed by the school in the years to follow. Throughout the programme, the students will be able to get used to their environment, their teachers, dance friends and above all start looking forward to attending their dance classes. These classes are planned to ensure a happy learning environment which stimulates and arouses the student's interest in furthering their dance training.

Some students will be introduced to dancing during this year whilst some others may have already attended the recreational classes available at JCDC in previous years. These classes are also planned to ensure a happy learning environment which stimulates and arouses the student's interest in furthering their dance training.

Our Primary students are also given the opportunity to start cla
sses in Modern Dance and Tap Dance so that they may familiarize themselves with other dance disciplines they may like and that will ensure a holistic training programme. Classes are held on the same day and discounted fees are available in order to support and encourage our students from an early age to train in various dance disciplines.

5 year old students are able to sit for examinations which are accredited internationally by the MFHEA and fall under the European Qualifications Framework (EQF/MQF). In order for students to sit for exams, they must be attending the required training programme at the appropriate age level recommended by the school. Students who do not attend all classes for each of the disciplines in the packages will not achieve the required level to sit for an examination in all genres, so they will not be in position to enter the examination at that specific level. However students are allowed to participate in classes without taking on their examinations should circumstances not enable them to attend all classes and should parents not wish them to take on examinations. Parents need to inform the school upon registration for the academic year whether or not they wish their child to enter an exam at the end of the academic year.

Senior School Courses

As teachers we strive to improve the level of education we provide students with and we feel it is essential for all students to do the proper and correct amount of training they need throughout the years of their development in order to maximize their potential. We have structured schedules in line with the concept of the conservatoire the school follows and as the principal of a Dance Conservatoire I would like to encourage parents to consider the programmes we are proposing.

We understand that not everyone can afford an increase in fees due to the additional hours of training and the school cannot sustain the costs of running classes if they are inadequately attended either. We would like to give equal opportunity to all our students as well as see them all progress together and with good participation in programmes the school will be able to keep fees as low as possible.

Students are able to sit for examinations which are accredited internationally by the MFHEA and fall under the European Qualifications Framework (EQF/MQF). As already mentioned students aiming to sit for exams must be attending all the hours of training available for that discipline recommended by the school. Students who do not attend all classes for each of the disciplines being offered within the programmes will not achieve the required level to sit for an examination, so they will not be in position to enter the examination at that specific level in that genre. However students are allowed to participate in classes without taking on their examinations should circumstances not enable them to attend all classes or should they not wish to enter further examinations and keep up their dancing.
