What are JCDC Graduates?
JCDC graduates are a testament to the conservatoire’s commitment to excellence, discipline, and artistic growth. Many have gone on to train at prestigious institutions and perform professionally both in Malta and abroad. Whether pursuing careers in dance, teaching, choreography, or related fields, our alumni carry with them the strong technical foundation, creative spirit, and resilience nurtured during their time at JCDC.

Dorian Mallia
Dorian Mallia is a distinguished dancer, choreographer, educator, and Artistic Director of MOVEO Dance Company, which he founded in 2008. He began his training at JCDC Malta before completing a degree at the Central School of Ballet, London, and later obtained a Master’s in Performing Studies (Dance) from the University of Malta.
As a performer, he has toured internationally with companies including European Ballet (UK), RBR Dance Company (Italy), LaMov (Spain), and Mavinkhoodance (Singapore). His choreographic work has been presented worldwide, and under his leadership MOVEO has received major recognition, including the Premju Għall-Arti Artists of the Year Award (2018) and the Best Creative Enterprise Award (2020).
Alongside his artistic practice, Mallia lectures at the University of Malta and MCAST, and contributes to dance research, with published work addressing themes such as queer performance and fluidity on stage. His multifaceted career continues to shape contemporary dance locally and abroad.

Brenda Lee Grech
Brenda Lee Grech has a diverse portfolio in both theatre and film within the dance sector. Locally, she trained under the direction of Johane Casabene before launching her professional career internationally, spanning over 20 years.
She has worked in various capacities with Ballet d’Europe, Scottish Ballet, Rambert, Punchdrunk and Dancers Career Development.
As a performer, she has collaborated with and performed works by Kylian, Forsythe, Bourne, McGregor, Schecter, Eyal, Cherkaoui and others, touring worldwide.
Brenda Lee is also known for her role as the Swan in the Netflix series Peaky Blinders. Locally, she has appeared as the Head Judge in TV talent show Brillanti, dance series.
She first joined ŻfinMalta as Rehearsal Director under the artistic direction of Paolo Mangiola, and was later appointed Associate Director during the company’s transition into NAPA.
