AFFILIATE TRANING AND ASSESMENT PROGRAMME

The Royal Ballet School’s Affiliate Training and Assessment Programme (ATAP) represents a progressive and forward-thinking approach to ballet education, grounded in a commitment to both technical excellence and artistic development.

Through this framework, students engage with ballet as a complete art form, exploring repertoire, choreography, and creative practice while developing a deeper understanding of musicality, performance, and artistic expression.

Key elements of the programme include:

  • Development of strong technical foundations and movement quality

  • Cultivation of artistry, musicality, and performance presence

  • Engagement with repertoire and choreographic processes

  • Encouragement of creativity and independent thinking

  • A holistic approach aligned with contemporary pedagogical practice

ATAP complements traditional syllabus-based training by extending beyond prescribed material, supporting the development of versatile, thoughtful, and well-rounded dancers. At JCDC, it is integrated alongside established examination systems to provide a comprehensive and enriched training pathway.

We are very excited to be part of this new initiative and look forward to watching your children grow and develop both artistically and technically over the coming months and years.
